Mine wouldn't read a book written by a woman. What do women know about anything?
When I told my therapist last week that one of the reasons I was attracted to him was because he was cultured and literary she was interested in what he read and whether he actually finished books. And she made realise that, for all xN's literary posturing, he didn't read all that much.
I found myself defending him before realising that he didn't read all that much and rarely finished books.
He was always reading Gombrich's 'History of Art' and he read 'Moby D!ck' which took him ages. Other than that, he read some fairly good quality crime novels, and that was it. He generally read golfing magazines.
Did the guy I like even exist?
